J&D's visit

My apologies for taking forever to post something new. A month ago there was a devastating earthquake in Taiwan that really screwed up the internet here in China. They just got everything back to normal a few days ago. It was pretty bad, I ended up bringing a book to the internet cafe and reading a couple pages every time I tried to get onto a new website.

Jon and Darren must have just arrived in E-town a couple hours ago, I'm sure it feels good to be back. I think they had a pretty good time here, filled with drunken follishness and bad hang-overs. I think we only had a couple nights out of the two weeks that they were here that we didn't intoxicate ourselfs. It was strange for me because it's become a real occasion for me to get tipsy nowadays. Probably the strangest thing that happened was one night at a club this dude was so coked up and drunk that he bottled Jon in the back of the head and then started crying. It was real strange. We did a little travelling. We went to one of my favorite cities and a real party town, Nanjing. Thats where Darren gave Jon a clean open ice hip check causing Jon to land on his face and break his 2 front teeth in half. I vaguely remember him yelling " Darren get the f over here now, I'm gonna fight you" as Darren and I hid around the corner in some plants. I'm just glad I managed to get the whole thing on video.

Anyways I'm off to meet my girlfriends mom for the first time. I'm sure it's bad enough meeting somebody's parents who speak the same language as you, but this is going to be brutal. Especially considering I have no plans for the next couple years and I haven't asked He Ting to marry me yet.

Hey whats up cuz!! Its kyle. Wow, seems like this whole china thing is quite the trip. Thats good. Hey one thing is it china or japan with the more advanced technology? So when do think u are coming down for a visit. When ever u do give me a shout and we'll have to go for a couple of drinks, which will probably lead to couple more and a coouple more. Anyways good luck with the girlfriends parents. Talk to ya soon

Hahahah! Leave it to Jon to get bottled in a foreign country by some coked up lunatic. I'm assuming he's alright though as he is more or less tough as nails. Is he though? Did you guys get to experience the Chinese hospital system after either of those two incidents?

Best of luck with meeting Momma-He Ting. I would be freaked out too. I don't know what you could do to break the ice. Maybe serenade her with some Bryan Adams, Loverboy or some other epic Canadian act on the karaoke box. Remember! Nothing says "I care for your daughter and my intentions are pure" more than Working for the Weekend.

yo Kyle, man ya gotta hook me up with your e-mail. I'll be back in Canada August 16th for atleast a couple weeks, hehe. I'll defenetly have to take you up on those drinks.
As for the China vs Japan thing it's tough to say. Japan is an island crammed with cool and stupid techno stuff and probably the Mecca for anything electronic, but i've never been there. China keeps their advances real under-wraps, but they are proud to be the world leader in stem cell research. A science that is probably most important to us right now and i'm sure will change the world drastically within the next 50 years.
So I'd say it's a toss up

Yo Marc. Luckily I got out meeting the moms, I think she was more nervous than I was(first contact with whitey), supposedly it was too late and she had to catch a train back to He Tings town. No Loverboy needed.
Ya Jon's tougher than I thought, he just constantly took an unhealthy dose of these intense Motrins. One night, I swear, his eyes made him look like he was in an anime.

I've spent a little time in a chinese hospital, my girlfriend had appendicitis. It's just a dirtier, more ghetto canadian hospital, with dudes lighting up in the waiting rooms. It's cool though when you go get your prescription there's a hallway and on one side is chinese medicine and on the other western. I started to get some quotes for a flight from Beijing to Tokyo, looks real affordable. Are ya still thinking of going to school there next year?

haha sounds like a great time. hopefully we can get to see a few more pictures from your shenanigans :)

my email is kkuffler@gmail.com or you can email my cellphone directly at kkuffler@ezweb.ne.jp i assume i was the kyle you were talking to, but if not well now you have it anyway ;)

from here it seems like anywhere in asia or southeast asia is only about 400$. that's pretty incredible when you think about it. if i had the time and extra cash i would definitely try to take a few little visits out to some of the neighboring countries.

by the way, you're up north right? so is the food mostly all szechuan and rediculously spicy? the chinese food here is crazy hot and i'm sure it's a lot worse over there eh?
